IS ALCOHOL SO HARMFUL?
We have all drunk alcohol and we have even gone beyond the mark, but do you really know what alcohol is?
Alcohol is a powerful toxic that can have a very negative impact on health. In 2012, the WHO published a report in which it pointed out that alcohol is one of the three priorities in public health, being the third cause of disease and premature death in the world
Effects that alcohol can cause:
It damages the neurological, cardiovascular and thermoregulatory function.
Can cause myopia (muscle disease)
Alterations in muscle metabolism.
We will receive attention to this last effect, alcohol interferes with muscle hypertrophy. The muscular hypertrophy is not more than the increase of the muscular mass due to the positive balance between the anabolism and the cataclysm, these in turn come by the relation between the synthesis and the degradation of proteins.
Broadly speaking, what alcohol does is to interfere negatively in the m-TOR route, this is one of the essential intra-cellular routes in hypertrophy.
Next we will talk about the known hormone that interferes with anabolic processes, testosterone, growth hormone. When there is an alcohol intake greater than 1.5 g / kg a decrease in testosterone levels is observed, this is due to alcohol as a toxin in the testes.
However, in women alcohol has another effect that increases the production of androgens that lead to alterations in the menstrual cycle, fertility problems, etc.
When we went over drinks, I think that the majority of the population does not know what they are facing and that it can greatly influence our health, especially in the levels of extra and intracellular signaling agents that participate in protein synthesis processes and in those hormone levels that favor the analog and recovery processes.
At a physical level, alcohol can seriously influence performance, strength and coordination, this is because ethanol affects the nervous system. The movements slow down, coordination decreases and vision changes occur.
On the other hand, alcohol is diuretic and therefore can increase the elimination of sports practice. Another effect is the increase in body weight due to the fact that ethanol has been inhibited in the oxidation of fats.
More and more young people spend more time drinking, I think it is not necessary for children to want to drink at such an early age and I already have it.
Personally, in spite of being informed of the effects related to alcohol, I do not think that I am not allowed to take the glasses of the week, each one with his body does what he wants.
If you want more detailed information about the effects of alcohol here I leave a link to a very interesting videos:
